Hi Patrick, interesting blog thanks for that. Personally speaking I wouldn't get involved in a singles event in Boxout itself, too false for me but hey that's just me. I think getting to know someone should happen naturally if at all and if it happens to be when you're partnering up with someone else during the rounds or just getting to know one another over the time of going to Boxout all the better. Sounds so old fashioned in this age of 'singles' events doesn't it! If people want it then do it on a weekend maybe. See you soon. Em

A word from the ring...

Front foot ! front foot !

The other day I was in the Boxing ring, holding pads for a 3 minute round, for one of Boxout's many inspiring students. Her (female) friend was yelling out from outside the ropes - front foot ! front foot !

What great spirit, what great support -and what great advice.

Getting on the front foot is one of the many boxing expressions that has made its way into daily life. In boxing its the person who moves forward, who takes it to their opponent who wins the fight - most of the time.

Getting on the front is about taking chances, being the aggressor and moving forward. And not being on the back foot for too long.

When the judges have to decide an otherwise even battle - they will almost always give the decision to guess who - the front foot fighter.

Thats boxing. Thats life.

Boxout has launched 2 all-girls classes right smack on Manly Beach at Nth Steyne Surf Club - kicks off Monday Oct 12 @ 6.15AM then Thur 15 Oct @ 6PM - details below.
